A propos de cet évènement
IFCM flagship project, World Choral Singing Day is an international choral event to extol the values of solidarity, peace and understanding!
Since 1990, thousands of choirs have joined in celebrating World Choir Day on or around the 2nd Sunday in December. Millions of singers around the world have participated in World Choral Day concerts, festivals, side songs, choral music seminars, friendship days and other events. .
In 2020, one of IFCM's most important projects, World Choir Day, will celebrate its 30th anniversary . In addition to the special commemoration, this year's edition will get even more attention due to the international coronavirus pandemic. Around the world, Covid-19 has had a huge impact on traditional in-person choral concerts and even on singing as a whole in many countries.
We believe that instead of canceling another choral project, World Choir Day 2020 is an extraordinary opportunity for the choral world to demonstrate their unity and solidarity by celebrating the joy of collective singing. Choral ensembles around the world are encouraged to join this global initiative to keep alive the 30-year tradition of World Choir Day. As is the case in recent years, we spend the last month of December for the World Day of the choir in 2020.
We are keenly aware of the current global situation and know that for many it is difficult to find ways to perform `` normal '' choral activities due to regulations designed to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus. Therefore, we are adding several options to join the celebration of 2020 so that everyone can find the right possibility for their ensemble (s), even if the opportunities to sing together are limited.
World Choral Singing Day is an initiative of Alberto Grau of the Latin American Vice-Presidency of the International Choral Music Federation, proposed and approved by the General Assembly of the IFCM held in Helsinki in August 1990, within the framework of of the 2nd World Symposium on Choral Music:
“ The world is in a serious and continuing crisis of self-destruction. No reason can justify these actions. The majority of the human race wants to live in peace and with dignity. It is time to show, with more power and force, that our choral family is contributing, through music, to breaking down the artificial barriers resulting from politics, different ideologies, religious differences and the racial hatred that separate the people. Human being. We must be able to show that MUSIC, the divine art, is more than the simple search for formal perfection and interpretive beauty, music must serve to extol the values of solidarity, peace and understanding. We cannot work in isolation, we must make every effort to make our voices heard and let the music follow its own paths. communication . "
